Kellen is 5!

Sunriver Birthday - new baseball helmet!

Ice cream!

Fishing pole!

New lunchbox

Pillow Pet! :)

Kellen's birthday happened to fall on the day we were driving down to Sunriver, which is kind of a bummer, but I think he had it made up to him! :) We had his friend birthday party at the end of June, since we decided that at 5 it is more exciting to have your party 2 weeks before your birthday than 2 weeks after. :) He chose to have a "How to Train Your Dragon" party, & as usual, it was a sunny, hot day for his party! Lots of friends came, & he had a great time.

We celebrated with just our family on July 7th (his b-day is July 9th) & met Erik for lunch at the Rainforest Cafe at Southcenter. It was lots of fun, though the gorillas scared Kaarin a bit - reality vs. fantasy are real clear cut for 2 yr. olds! Then we celebrated at home with pizza for dinner & ice cream for dessert! Kellen got some fun gifts, but his absolute favorite was his new fishing pole! This was definitely getting packed for Sunriver! :)

Then, while were in Sunriver, we had a Weedon family celebration! At the roller skating rink, we had pizza & balloons, & then we came back to 'our' house for ice cream & presents! He got a new baseball helmet, a new bug container, & a train for his geotrax! All in all, I think he perhaps benefited from having his birthday on a 'travel day!' But that is o.k., because Kellen is worth celebrating! Happy birthday, sweet boy! You are our favorite 5 year old boy!
