Princess & Pirate Party

Annika wanted to have a Princess Party for her birthday this year, &, well, since we also have Kellen, we had to throw in a 'boy' piece to it...princes seems like it would be a natural fit, but I really don't think there is as much prince attire out there as there is princess. So, pirates it was! We told everyone on their invitation that they could come 'in costume' & it was SO fun because pretty much everyone did! The exceptions being, of course, my own children...Anyway, the party was SO much fun & everyone looked cute & I think Annika had a great time!!

Kiwi fruit, kiwi birds, kiwi girls?

I just had this conversation with Kellen at lunch today:
Kellen: "What are you cutting?"
Me: "A kiwi fruit."
K: "It looks so small."
Me: "Isn't it funny that there is a kiwi fruit AND a kiwi bird?" (Grandma & Grandpa just got back from Australia/NZ & brought the kids a stuffed animal kiwi)...
K: "And a kiwi girl! From Annika's party!"
Hahaha...Me: ":) Her name is KiVi!"

More Funnies

Conversation from snack time:
Kellen: "When is the next baby going to come out of your tummy?" (he asks this one a lot)
Me: "It's not. God is all done giving us babies."
Kellen: "Well, Annika & Kaarin..."
Me: "They already came out of my tummy. When they get bigger, they will have babies in their tummies!"
Annika: "But not Kellen."
Kellen: "I think Annika will have 1 or 2, & Kaarin will have 1 or 2."
Me: "But Mommy had 3..."
Kellen: "Me, Annika & Kaarin!"
Annika: "And Daddy!"
Me: "No, Daddy didn't come out of my tummy."
Kellen: "Then how did he get in our family?"
Me: "I married him."
Kellen: "If you marry someone you don't know, do you get to keep them?"
:)

Kellen, Annika & Kaarin were playing Duck, Duck, Goose (that alone is funny, if you can imagine a circle only 3 people big? Can you say, dizzy??). Kellen picked Annika, then Annika picked Kaarin. They ran around & around (they always do extra laps) & then sat down. Kellen said, "Kaarin, you stand up! You're the Ducker!"

So far I don't have to worry about my girls cutting their hair...they want it to be LONG like Rapunzel's.:) Kaarin said, "My hair longer?" I told her, yes, her hair was growing. She said, "Long - Kasey's?" :)

We were in the car today & Kaarin said, "Jesus love me, Kellen!!" in a very excited voice.:)

Daylight Savings Time

My girl Annika is having a tough time with the time change.:) Unfortunately, the last 2 days she has decided to go to sleep about 15 minutes before it's time to leave to go get Kellen from school! In this picture, she had been playing & putting her 'babies' to bed. I was in my room finishing up some stuff & I came out to tell her to get her shoes on, & this is what I found! Fortunately, I have great neighbors who were able to come over so that I didn't have to wake her (that would have been ugly!!). Thank you, Julie & Denise! And hopefully Annika will get back on schedule as the week goes on.:)

Cider Press

We stayed at Lake Chelan Shores, part of our Worldmark timeshare. The pool was FREEZING!!

Sunny morning on the lake!

Apples!!

Pressing cider!

Helping girls!

Picking pears!

Jugged cider

Leftover apple pulp

Every Fall we hope that we get to go over to Lake Chelan for the family cider press, & this year we did!!:) It was a little bit later than usual, due to the late harvest, but we ended up having a GORGEOUS weekend -- it couldn't have been any nicer for November! The pictures (as usual) tell it best!

November 1st Funnies

A few more funnies:

Today we were in the car, & Annika (who is SO excited to be a mommy someday), says, " When I get bigger I am going to have a baby in my tummy! I would like a girl baby, please. Just like you had 2 girl babies in your tummy!!" I told her she might have a girl baby.:) Then she said, "Who is making it?" ;) So I told her she would pray for a husband & God would bring her one (a wonderful one) & then I explained that Daddy is my husband. And that she would find a different one. So she said, "Kellen will be my husband." And then, "Daddy will be my husband." :)

Kellen, after hearing Annika being excited about having a baby in her tummy, says, "I will have a baby in my tummy too when I grow up!" And I told him, no, only girls get to have babies in their tummies. He said, "AWWWW! I wish I were a girl!" ;)

Every morning when I go in to get Kaarin up, she says, "Mommy! You come back!!" Like she was worried I wouldn't...:)

Kaarin picked out an outfit to wear & I told her that Grandma had made it for Mommy a long time ago. She said, "Ohhhhh! Thank you, Grandma!" Then she went out, looked at herself in the mirror & said, "I pretty!" as she tried to twirl.:)

Last night I was praying for Kaarin to feel better (shoulder, & Kellen had poked her in the eye), & I prayed something like "Thank you Jesus for Kaarin & for putting her in our family & for her personality & how funny she is...." Kaarin interrupted in a very quiet voice: "I not funny." :)

Today Annika has been saying, "O-W-E-N, that's Owen!" (He is in her class)

Tonight I was making the rest of the sugar cookies that we started last weekend. I sprinkled some flour on the counter to roll them out & Kaarin said, "OOPS! You spilled. I lick it up." :)
