A few more funnies

I can never remember all of these when I sit down to write, so I may have to add some more later.:)

*The other day I was printing a picture for Annika off the computer. She looked at me & said, "Daddy sure wants a new one of these!" :)

*I call Kaarin 'Babe' or 'Honey' & she always replies, "No, I not a babe. (or honey)." So cute.

Tonight before bed Kaarin 'read' 2 stories to me! 'Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What do you see?" & "That's not my Tractor." So cute! Then she told me, "I your mommy, you the kid. You sleep in my bed." I told her I didn't think I would fit in her bed (crib) & that she had to sleep in it. She said, "No! I the mommy! You sleep in this bed & I sleep in your bed." Ha! Good try.

Kaarin wanted to pray for our dinner the other night. She clasps her hands together & says, "Thank you our food, our friends, our milk, our guacamole..." :)

Then Annika wanted to pray so she continued, "Thank you for our house & that it keeps us warm & dry!"

And then Kellen wanted to pray: "Dear Lord, thank you for all the things you give to us..."
They are catching on!

All right. I'll have to think of the rest later. Good night!

Christmas programs

My angel.:)

Annika is supposed to be a sheep, but she wouldn't wear her ears...

2 kids on stage at the same time!:)

Kaarin, making her stage debut as a sheep.:)

You can kind of see all 3 of them here...haha.

Since Kellen & Annika are both at Little Church on the Prairie this year, they were both in the Christmas pageant! And all 3 kids were in the church children's program this year!

Santa pictures

Here is our annual Santa picture -- YAY! All 3 kids are in it this year!!:)

Children's Museum

Mr. Rogers always has words of wisdom!

We love to paint!

Dressing up!

Silly guy!

Here comes the train! And see the sun???

We wanted to take one last trip to the Tacoma Children's Museum before it closed on 12/19 -- they are opening a new location in January! We picked a day to go, & we were blessed with SUNSHINE! Which was great, because we took the Link Light Rail 'train' & then had to walk a couple of blocks. It was so pleasant to do in the sun.:) As with most things, the pictures tell it best!

Some funnies from December

Kaarin got a little bonk on the head yesterday (well, maybe it wasn't so little...). As she was calming down she said, in a very sad, squeaky voice: "I go to doctor. I get new head." :)

Tonight we were reading a Bible story about Jesus being the "Good News" & saving us from our sins, so I was asking the kids questions about that & what it means. Annika said that Jesus lives in her heart, then said, "But how does He get in? I don't have a hole in me!"

Today I said, "You're a nut," to Kaarin. She said, "I not a nut. I Kaarin."

Kaarin came up to me tonight & said, "I baby. I Aaron." :)

We went to see Santa today, & after last year I had a gift for each kid to receive from Santa after sitting for the picture. (I am not above bribes!) I had the gifts in a bag & when we got to Santa I asked one of his 'helpers' to give the bag to Santa to give the gifts to the kids...well, she didn't understand (complicated, I know...) & thought we were giving the gifts TO Santa (duh) so I ended up having to give the bag to him. Kellen later asked me, "Who bought the presents?" I said that Santa did, & Kellen said, "And then he put them in your bag?" I see this isn't going to last very long...:)

Dinosaurs?

I've never really given much thought to dinosaurs. Sure, I've seen their bones, I've seen Jurassic Park about 20 times (read the book, too!), but dinosaurs have never really held much interest to me. But then I had a son. Who LOVES dinosaurs. And the more dinosaur books I read, the more concerned I became. I said to Erik one night, "Have you ever thought about dinosaurs & the fact that most of the books out there go against everything we believe about Creation & what the Bible tells us?!" And he answered "yes," but neither of us really had the answer. Because the Bible tells us that God created the world in 6 days (He rested on the 7th), & Adam & Eve lived in perfect harmony with all creatures before the fall (when they disobeyed God & ate from the tree He told them they could not eat from). So if that's the case, which we believe that it is, dinosaurs couldn't have lived millions of years ago before there were any people on earth. So we really felt like we needed to figure this one out so that we could teach our kids the Truth. And, lo & behold, coincidentally (or not!), our church (which has some simply amazing things happening in it!!!) had invited a man named Dr. Tommy Mitchell from Answers in Genesis to come & speak over 3 days, & one of his topics was Were There Dinosaurs on the Ark? Woot! He was an absolutely FANTASTIC speaker & he answered tons of our questions in a biblical way. We went to every session that he did except for 2 & loved all of them. In case you are wondering, he is a biochemist + an M.D. He has left his medical practice to speak with Answers in Genesis. I hope that you will look up the website www.answersingenesis.org & see what they have to say. ALSO, our church website has ALL of his talks on its sermon podcasts, so you can hear them all! If you go to www.lc3.com & click on 'sermons' just scroll down until you find Dr. Tommy Mitchell & it will have all of his talks listed by title. Keep in mind, however, that he used a lot of graphics that will not be visible, so he might lose you on a few points. He is so engaging though, I think you will get the gist!
(In case you are also wondering, he completely believes dinosaurs roamed the earth, that they were created the day Adam & all the other land animals were created, & that earth is only a few thousand years old - 6,000 at the most, I think - & that there WERE dinosaurs on the ark! Listen to find out why!)

Party, party, party!

Somehow this year ALL of our Christmas events ended up on the same weekend!! I had 3 Christmas parties & 3 choir events, all in 4 days. Phew! Fortunately they were all really fun events! I made Erik take some pictures with me, especially since we NEVER get to dress up!!Erik's work Christmas party

The President's Ball at The Tacoma Country & Golf Club

MOPS Christmas party

I just had to share a few pictures from our MOPS Christmas party because it was SO funny!!

Unique sweater contest...

This dress has been around a few years!!!!!!

Where is the leg to go with that lamp????!!!

And it even works!!!!!!!!!

O Christmas tree!

In search of our tree...

She loves her hat!

Here's our family tree!

And Kellen & Annika got to get a tree for their room!

We headed out to Schilter Farm in Nisqually again this year to get our tree. It was kind of a foggy, cold day, but at least it was dry! I'll post pictures of the decorated trees later. We didn't really do much at the farm because it was pretty cold. We did stop in to see the animals, & we got a candy cane.:) All was well with the Weedon kids....

Annika's 4th Birthday!

Ready for the movie!

Ice cream!

Red Robin

Frog socks!

Pillow pet!

Annika's birthday fell the day after Thanksgiving this year! (I think last year we told her that's what day it was, since it was ON Thanksgiving!) We decided to take the kids to the new Muppet movie. At the Lakewood Towne Center cinema, the seats are all leather recliners & all movies before noon are $6. So, seeing as our children are such morning people (especially Annika!) we hit the 9:30 a.m. flick. Ha! We got there early since we thought it might be crowded (it wasn't), but everyone got moving o.k. I think they had to eat breakfast in the car, though... Anyway, the movie was super cute, especially for anyone who grew up watching the muppets! After that we went to lunch at McDonald's (Annika's choice), Baskin-Robbins for ice cream, & then later we went to Red Robin for dinner. (Let's just say my stomach revolted for the next couple of days!) I think Annika had a fun day, even though it was a little on the busy side. Happy 4th Birthday, special girl!!
