Sunriver

Erik's parents took all the family on vacation to Sunriver, OR in July. 19 of us stayed in one big house! Overall it was really fun & the kids had a great time with all their cousins!! But the trip got off to a rocky start (like many have lately:() with Annika throwing up about 5 minutes before we got in the car to start our 6 hr. drive, & Kellen asking for a bowl "just in case." Ewwwww. Not the way we wanted to start! Besides that, we had been battling the flu within our house for close to a month, so we thought we would be in the clear by the time vacation rolled around! Not so. Poor Annika didn't throw up in the car (no one else did, either) but she was sick for at least 3 days once we got there (diarrhea & vomit). Poor thing. And Kellen was fighting something, because he was sleeping 15 hrs./day. Not the best start. But once they got feeling better, we all had a great time!! (And we only passed it on to 2 people....sorry!!) The pictures will tell it best, but I'll highlight a few things that we did:
*Tour at the High Desert Museum - they loved this!
*Erik went river tubing with the rest of the family
*FISHING! This was Kellen's (well, the other 2 too) first time - he had gotten a new fishing pole for his birthday! He was SO excited!!:)
*Roller skating: Kaarin was HILARIOUS! And GOOD! The other 2 wouldn't try it, but she did great!!
*Pizza & ice cream with family & friends for Kellen's 5th birthday! (Which was also the day we left to drive down, the day he was asking for a bowl...:( )
*My oldest friend from growing up (meaning the friend I have known the longest!) was also down in Sunriver the same week we were there, so she & I got to relive our teen year visits with a nice long bike ride (without kids!)
*Baseball in the park (complete with a new batting helmet!)
*Water slide at the swimming pool!
*Golf on a real golf course!
*Fun bike rides in a bike trailer
*Treats at the candy store in Sunriver village
*Fun time with family & friends!!
