*I overheard Kellen & Annika talking at bedtime the other night. Kellen said, "Let me tell you how it is: girls have baginas & boys have penises. And they are not the same."
*Kaarin has not quite grasped the word phrasing that she should use here as "who." Instead when she wants to know who gave her something she says, "Whatbody gived this to me?" Love it. :)
*Annika: "Grandma always make stuff for us. That because she likes us." :)

Daddy-Daughter Dance!
Tonight was the Daddy-Daughter dance through Lakewood Parks & Rec, & Annika & Daddy's first time attending! We decided to have Kaarin wait until next year, even though she would have LOVED it, to give Annika & Daddy a special night together.:) Daddy got her a new dress, & off they went to the ball! (We told her it was the ball, because that's what all the princesses go to!) They met up with several friends there, & went out to frozen yogurt afterwards. I think she had a magical night!
Slumber Party!
Who knew a hide-a-bed could be so exciting?? O.k., I did. My sister & I used to get super-excited to sleep on it when we were little. Probably because it meant we got to sleep in front of the t.v.! The other day we were looking for a lost car, & I thought maybe it had fallen into the couch so I pulled out the hide-a-bed. The kids didn't know the couch could do that, so they were all over it - literally.:) And we don't even have a t.v. in that room.:) They wanted to sleep on it, so I told them they could on a Friday night. So here they all are, asleep, having their slumber party! It took them awhile to go to sleep, but overall they slept pretty well. Annika left in the middle of the night & came to our bed, but Kaarin & Kellen slept until 7:30 or so!

Schedule update
So we have been using our new schedule for about a month now, & it is going SO WELL!! The kids love it, even though they still find things to fight over - haha. Now they fight over whose name goes where ("I want the middle!" -- really??!) But overall it has cut down on a lot of the bickering & 'free time'. Now they have specific choices & they are very excited to see what is new each day! Kellen even told me that he goes to see what the choices are before he comes to find me! :) And our garage space is the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am LOVING it!! I added a new picture - I was planning to find some kind of carpet remnant or something to put under the art table to 1) help it be a little bit warmer on their feet, even though I have a heater out there, & 2) look a little more homey. Well, as I was perusing the Sunday ads last week, I saw these foam floor squares on sale at K-Mart, & they are PERFECT!!!!!!!!! I am pretty sure they will clean (paint, glue) better than carpet, & they are so cheery looking!! And they are nice & thick & soft, so their feet have a nice place to go.:) They were bigger than I thought after seeing them in the ad, but I ended up getting enough that they go under the easel & the sensory table as well! Love it! And I also bought some storage drawers (back of the picture) to hold all of our supplies that we use in the garage so that they are readily accessible. This picture would have been even better if the kids were in it, but I think they were finished with their project - here we had painted & decorated picture frames. And all the mess stayed in the garage! Did I mention that I love it??!!

The kids have been so funny lately!! I have had to write these down otherwise I forget!!
*A couple of weeks ago we were at my parents' house celebrating my dad's birthday. Aunt Amy was talking to Kaarin & asked her if she wanted to go skydiving with her. Kaarin, being Kaarin, said, "Yes!!" Later, Kellen drew this picture of Aunt Amy & Kaarin skydiving together.:)
*Another day, Annika asked if she could have some gum. I told her no, but that she could have some when we fly on the airplane to go visit Papa & Bestemor. :) Kaarin piped up, "And I can fly with Amy!!" :)
*Kellen & Annika lately have been saying, "GJPODPNIHOISOIJGIOPOKS" (that would be gibberish, not swearing!) & then say, "We're talking in Spanish." :)
*I told Annika that when she doesn't wet the bed anymore that she & Kaarin will get to have bunk beds!! Kellen & I were talking about it later, & that the girls would be in the same room together. He said, "And I can have a bunk bed too in case someone wants to sleep with me?" (That kind of makes me sad!)
*The other night Annika came into our bed - I don't know when, I never heard her or felt her, but I woke up & she was there! I had fallen asleep snuggled up to Erik, & when she came in she snuggled up to me, so when I woke up, all 3 of us were sleeping on about 1/4 of the bed!!!!!! I looked over Annika & there was a HUGE amount of space!!!!! LOL. We were very cozy.;)
*I brought out a little cup one day for each of the kids with some vitamin D in it. They wanted to know what it was, so I told them. Kellen thought for a minute, then said: "We get that from the sun, too! When we run at school Miss Mary always asks us if we got some." :)
*Kaarin counted 1-12 today!!
*Last night Kaarin decided in the middle of dinner that she wanted to get her pjs on (?). We told her that she could after dinner, & that if she got up from the table, she would be done with dinner. So she got up & went to get her pjs, & was done with dinner. As I was cleaning up the kitchen, she told me she wanted her dinner because she was hungry. I told her she made the choice to be done. She kind of whined about it, so I (jokingly) held up a lettuce center to her & told her she could have that. She grabbed it out of my hand & took a big bite, then proceeded to eat the whole thing.:) I laughed at her, & she said, "Why are you laughing at me??!" I told her that she was stubborn.:) She said, "I not stubborn, I Kaarin." :) Then she ate more lettuce.;)
*Kaarin has finally figured out that we pray for people & things, not to them!! ;)
*Sometimes when Kellen gets up before me, I have him come & snuggle with me in my bed. One night he said, "Mommy, can you or daddy get up before me tomorrow because I don't want to come in your bed." LOL.
*Apparently we don't have many (any??) friends who live in apartments...we took dinner over to someone from church who just had a baby, & they live in an apartment. When we got there, Kellen says, "Are all these people on vacation?" haha -- he thought they were condos.:)

School update
Not a lot has changed on this topic, & I don't know much new information, so this post will probably be brief.;) I called a couple of schools in the Clover Park School District, & found out what I figured I would find out: that most of them do not know what they are offering for next year until they know what their enrollment #s are. Our home school, Tyee Park (where Erik went to elem.) does not even have a 1/2 day class this year - they have 4 full day! Hmmm. I am going to go visit the schools to see if anything about it changes my mind toward full day, but I think even if we did, we would go private (you have to pay for full day even in public). So....waivering into Steilacoom is still a possiblity, but I don't think I can do that until I am sure that I am not going to enroll at any CP schools, since I have to waiver out of CP.
I also went to visit Concordia Lutheran last week, mostly because a friend had set up a tour. It's the same story, full day K (they do have 1/2 day, sort of, but the half day kids just leave before the full day kids). It's also a little far, but I will definitely re-evaluate for 1st grade.
Erik & I discussed it last night, & we'll discuss it more after I visit classrooms. No decision yet. Stay tuned!

Girls
*Tonight Kaarin was sitting on my lap, facing me. She grabbed my cheeks & gave me a big smackeroo right on the lips. Then she said, "Let's play Tangled. I am Rapunzel & you are my Flynn." Then she said, "You are dead. Go be dead over there." ha. So I went over to the couch to be dead, she taped her hair on, & came over to sing me back to life. :) Then she kissed me again.
*Yesterday Annika & Kaarin were playing in my room, & Annika told Kaarin to get into my bed because she was sick. Then she said, "Are you going to throw up?" Kaarin said, "Yes." Annika said, "I will get you a bowl." She looked at me & said, "Kaarin is in bed because she is sick!" She brought over a little basket to Kaarin & said, "Here, throw up in here." So Kaarin made retching sounds into the 'bowl.' So glad it was fake...
